Myanmar Railway

The Japanese then engaged Asian workforce in Myanmar Railway Project. A huge force of 240000 laborers joined hands in laying the railway tracks.

By 1942, things were easy after the fall of Singapore, Malaya and Indonesia in the World War II. The Japanese occupiers got at their disposal, a large contingent of skilled, disciplined and able-bodied Prisoners of War (POWs) to harness the horrendous project.
